Blog #1: Building a Network of Connections

For this blog post, I will be discussing Chapter 2 and the importance of developing a network of a connected learning community. In any career or educational career, it should be a main goal of one to make as many connections as possible. Connections include coworkers, classmates, managers, professor, teachers, etc. When one makes these connections, it can lead them to an array of opportunities to grow in their field, specifically socially. These connections have been proven to help improve the outcomes and growth of many. Building a network is essential to be successful in one's goals. This builds an influence that can show many your true potential and what you have to offer.

A great example of building your network of connections is a social media influence. In today's society, many people utilize social media to their advantage. You can connect with a variety of relevant people who can be great additions to your connection list. This is an example of Global Network. Another way to build a network of connections is by joining a group. This can be any group as long as it has a purpose. It is essential that this way of networking is done in a face-to-face manner. In this method, there is a guaranteed meaningful connection to be built as you are connecting one-on-one with a community that shares a common with you. This is an example of Local Community.

In any profession, it is absolutely important to have reliable and professional connections. It is beneficial to communicate and reach out to the connections you have made. When you have a network of people who are in the same field as you, it can make things so much easier to manage. When you need help or have questions on a specific subject, it is best that you have that social network community to be there for you to help when it is needed most.
