Chapter Five

Hello, all! Today I will be discussing the content of Chapter Five in The Connected Educator by Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach. In this blog post, I will discuss the important aspects of chapter five and how it relates to my future career as an educator. One of the most important topics of this chapter is how significant it is to incorporate technology in education. The main purpose of this is to show how technology benefits classrooms and educators. There are many benefits to technology in the classroom. Some of the benefits include student collaboration, student growth, teacher collaboration, etc.

Having technology in the classroom will not only benefit students but teachers as well. When technology is used in classrooms, it not only elevates the learning experience but creates an effective learning environment. Teachers can use technology to connect with students, peers, co-workers, and other teachers. A wonderful way to connect with other teachers is through groups. There are thousands of teacher groups on almost every app you can think of. It is so crucial for teachers to connect with each other as this builds better teaching and learning experiences. This allows teachers to collaborate with each other and assemble effective lessons for students. An example of this is mentioned in the book, “The instructional videos posted on TeacherTube may allow you to expand your professional knowledge by learning from other educators or may be suggested to students to watch at home or in the classroom” (pg. 86). Teachers can use this tool to develop a sense of collaboration and to inspire themselves with videos from other teachers. This is a very effective tool and I will absolutely use this tool to get inspiration for my lessons and to also connect with other teachers using videos.

How could you incorporate technology into your career?
