The Global Influence of Duolingo and The Educational Benefits

Hello everyone! This week I will be discussing the app Duolingo and how influential it is to educators and students all around the world. Duolingo is an app that allows anyone interested in learning a new language to learn through an app. Duolingo is an educational app that is super beneficial to educators and people alike. This app is not only beneficial to educators and students but also for foreigners, travelers, families, children, and anyone interested in learning a new language. 


The Duolingo app is designed to make learning a new language fun and easier. It is a self-paced program that helps each student/individual learn at their own pace. Duolingo offers personalized practices designed to accommodate the needs of each student. This is absolutely beneficial and practical for educators who are teaching languages. Educators can track progress, set a desired amount of time spent on the app, and review and correct work done by students. This app is a necessity in every language learning environment as it is so specific to each person and accommodates everyone's needs.  I fully recommend this app to every educator who needs an extra fun learning experience in their classroom.

    Hi Thalia, I really enjoyed your smackdown. I've never tried to learn a second language but I'm familiar with duolingo, this smackdown will help me a lot if I ever try to learn a second language in the future.

    Hello! I never heard of this app, but I am definitely going to check it out because I’ve always wanted to learn a new language. I love that it is self-paced, so it allows the learner to truly learn and understand the specific language they are trying to learn. As a future educator, I am going to keep this app in mind because I feel it can be very beneficial in a classroom setting. Great presentation!!

    Im glad someone chose duolingo to discuss, I really enjoy this app. It is a great way for anyone with an interest in a new language to learn through this app like you had stated. I like how you added it is a self-paced program so any individual person can learn at their own pace which is very important and cannot usually be done during a class.

    Hi! I have actually used Duolingo and still currently use it as my husband and his family speak Spanish as a first language and I am always learning for myself and my kids! The only downside is that the app only offers proper languages, in my case this would be proper Spanish.

 For this blog post, I will be discussing Chapter 2 and the importance of developing a network of a connected learning community. In any career or educational career, it should be a main goal of one to make as many connections as possible.
